Rosemary Roosa. Apollo 14 Capsule at Cape Kennedy

Biography

Rosemary Roosa is the President of the Moon Tree Foundation, an educational non-profit 501(c)(3) to honor her father’s legacy of tree seeds taken aboard the Apollo 14 mission in 1971. Her efforts has taken her around the world with presentations and plantings of “moon trees.” She is also an accomplished author, having released her book in 2019: To the Moon: An Autobiography of an Apollo Astronaut’s Daughter, as the daughter of Col. Stuart “Stu” Roosa, Command Module Pilot of Apollo 14. Rosemary has been the Executive Director of the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, an adjunct professor at Tulane University, the President of Gulf Coast Coors, Inc., and a Capitol Hill staffer in Washington DC.

Rosemary is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s OPM program for owners and presidents of multimillion dollar companies. Rosemary’s undergraduate degree is from Newcomb College with Tulane University (in Political Science), with a Master of Science degree from William Carey University (in Psychology). Roosa has also studied abroad in Paris and Athens. Rosemary currently resides in Biloxi, Mississippi with Francisco Gonzalez.

Rosemary has been recognized as one of the top 50 Tourism and Business Leaders of the Gulf Coast and Women in Business Leader. Rosemary has been involved with several boards, including the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum, the Gulf Coast Attractions Association, and the Judicial Advisory Study Committee to the Governor. She has also been an Honorary Commander at Keesler Air Force Base and selected as a civilian to participate in the Air War College by the Secretary of the Air Force.

Rosemary’s interests include traveling (having been to over 55 countries and 6 continents), golf, and hunting. She received her private pilot’s license at the age of 18, having been taught to fly by her father.
